AMS Music Centre is pleased to provide expert tuition on the piano in Bentleigh East, Mount Waverley and surrounding suburbs of Melbourne.
The piano is an acoustic, stringed musical instrument. It is played using a keyboard. Most modern pianos have a row of 88 keys (52 white keys and 36 shorter black keys).
The piano is widely employed in classical, jazz, traditional and popular music for solo and ensemble performances, accompaniment, and for composing, songwriting and rehearsals.
Modern acoustic pianos have two basic configurations, the grand piano and the upright piano, with various styles of each. There are also specialized and novelty pianos, electric pianos based on electromechanical designs, electronic pianos that synthesize piano-like tones using oscillators, and digital pianos using digital samples of acoustic piano sounds.

As with any other musical instrument, the piano may be played from written music, by ear, or through improvisation.
The piano is a crucial instrument in Western classical music, jazz, blues, rock, folk music, film and television scoring, and many other Western musical genres. A large number of composers and songwriters are proficient pianists because the piano keyboard offers an effective means of experimenting with complex melodic and harmonic interplay and trying out multiple, independent melody lines that are played at the same time. We provide piano lessons in Bentleigh East, Mount Waverley and Eastern Melbourne suburbs near you. Bandleaders often learn the piano, as it is an excellent instrument upon which to learn new pieces and songs which one will be leading during a performance.
